How to successfully market a black box drug on TikTok

THE CHALLENGE

TYSABRI is an injection that helps treat relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS). It also comes with a black box warning, due to the risk of getting a serious brain infection (that's very rare).

While TYSABRI touts great efficacy and legacy, there have been newer MS treatment options made available over the years.

To break through this very competitive space, our client wanted to target young adults with MS. Through social listening, we found that many young adults post about their MS experience on TikTok.

THE WORK

We worked with micro influencers who post about their experience living with MS and who also currently use TYSABRI.

Through co-creation sessions, we worked with two influencers, Amanda and Tori. We provided each of them with prompts and content areas that aligned with our brand objectives.

Both of them came back with snackable, easy, and informative videos that spoke to their experience with TYSABRI.

MY ROLE

Created an influencer onboarding document, which outlined content areas and prompts for the influencers to ideate from.

After each influencer created their videos, I provided creative feedback to ensure these videos were aligning with our objectives.
